Intro: Since 1963, Sheakley has been a trusted leader in safety management across industrial, construction, and high-risk environments. We are hiring a Safety Manager for a 6-month project supporting a mechanical contractor performing process piping installation in Mebane, NC. This contract is ideal for experienced safety professionals with mechanical and piping system backgrounds who can manage safety compliance in a fast-paced environment.
The Safety Manager will provide daily field oversight, ensure OSHA compliance, and lead site safety initiatives for an active mechanical installation project.
Compensation: Rate:
$50-$55/hour (based on experience) Per Diem:

Schedule: Hours:
50-60 hours/week Schedule:
Monday-Friday, weekends as needed
Project Scope: This project involves the installation of process piping systems for a mechanical contractor, including: Daily site walks and mechanical safety oversight Toolbox talks and site safety meetings Completion of daily safety reports and documentation Enforcement of OSHA 1926 and site-specific safety protocols Coordination of safety training and onboarding for contractors Qualifications: •OSHA 510 (Required) •Competent Person (Confined Space, Scaffold, Fall Protection) •LOTO Training •First Aid/CPR Certification •5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably with mechanical and piping projects
Additional Requirements: •Must be able to pass background check and drug screening •Reliable transportation to and from jobsite •Ability to work independently and maintain consistent documentation
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and document jobsite inspections Lead daily toolbox talks and safety briefings Coordinate safety compliance with trade partners Track and report corrective actions and near misses Promote a proactive, zero-incident safety culture
Knowledge Base: Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Subparts C, D, E, K, M, and P, with emphasis on mechanical contracting, process piping installation, and safety leadership in industrial environments.
