Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Training Specialist L4 with extensive experience in maneuver training, operational planning, and large-scale exercise support to join our team supporting U.S. Army Combat Training Centers (CTCs) and the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). This role provides critical support to collective training events, helping units improve readiness, mission command proficiency, and doctrinal alignment in preparation for operational deployments.
The ideal candidate will provide advanced training support to the U.S. Army's Maneuver Combat Training Centers (CTCs) and the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). The specialist serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in maneuver operations, unit-level training integration, and collective exercise support, collaborating with commanders, staff officers, and training enablers at multiple echelons.
Responsibilities
Skills / Experience Required Active TS/SCI Clearance 12-14 years of experience in military operations, training, or exercise planning-preferably at Brigade/Division level 5+ years supporting MCTP, CTCs (e.g., JRTC, NTC, JMRC), or large-scale collective training events Expertise in Army operational doctrine (FM 3-0, FM 7-0, ATP 3-90 series) and training management processes Experience using systems such as CPOF, GCCS-A, JTIMS, DTMS, AFATDS, or other Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) Strong background in scenario development, OPORD writing, and exercise control Proven ability to lead AARs and provide constructive feedback to military units and leadership Exceptional communication, coordination, and facilitation skills Prior service in a key leadership role (e.g., BN/CO CDR, S3, XO, OC/T) is highly desirable Willingness to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS in support of training events Training Specialists assigned to Army Space Training Division (ASTD) may be required to become licensed, trained, certified and road tested on all tactical equipment they are required to operate, and are required to maintain a valid state driver's license. For non-tactical vehicles supporting 16 or more passengers, personnel may be required to obtain and maintain a valid commercial driver's license. Drivers are required to complete Army accident-avoidance training as required, provided by the designated Government representative. Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Division and Brigade-level training events, including Warfighter Exercises (WFX), CTC rotations, and Mission Command Training (MCT) Develop and deliver realistic training scenarios, orders, and injects aligned with Army and Joint doctrine Advise commanders and staff on the Operations Process, mission command systems, and maneuver doctrine application Conduct After Action Reviews (AARs), capture lessons learned, and recommend improvements to enhance training effectiveness Integrate simulations, command and control systems, and observer/controller feedback into dynamic, high-fidelity training environments Collaborate with MCTP teams, CTC elements, and operational units to ensure training goals and objectives are met Ensure all training materials, exercises, and evaluations adhere to current DoD and Army policy, doctrine, and security requirements Education / Certifications
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Education, Military Studies, or related field preferred Completion of Command and General Staff College (CGSC) or equivalent strongly preferred Instructor certification such as Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC) or equivalent is desirable Familiarity with ISD methodologies (ADDIE) or Training Development Capability (TDC) is a plus Benefits

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
