Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior Training Specialist L4 position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success.

This position supports operational units across the Department of Defense (DoD), Space Force (USSF), and U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM), ensuring warfighters are trained to operate space control systems effectively in contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environments.

The candidate will integrate real-world mission scenarios, emerging threats, and current tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) into both initial qualification and continuation training. The specialist will collaborate with program offices, system developers, operational units, and training commands (e.g., STARCOM) to ensure training content is technically accurate, instructionally sound, and tactically relevant.

Responsibilities

Skills / Experience Required Active TS/SCI clearance Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in space operations, with at least 3 years focused on space control, electronic warfare, or satellite protection missions Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training programs using ISD methodologies Strong understanding of USSF space control mission areas, tools, and operational environments (e.g., NIPR/SIPR/JWICS) Familiarity with space system architectures, CONOPS, and TTPs related to space defense, SSA/SDA, or electromagnetic operations Experience working with training simulation tools or operator interfaces for space control platforms Proven ability to instruct and brief military personnel across all ranks, including joint and coalition partners Experience operating in classified environments and handling sensitive operational data in compliance with security standards Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop technical documentation and lesson plans Prior military or civilian instructor certification (e.g., USAF Instructor Course, AETC, or equivalent) Experience supporting Space Delta 3, STARCOM, or USSPACECOM space control missions Familiarity with joint doctrine (e.g., JP 3-14), Space power Doctrine, and threat assessments from adversary counterspace programs Design, develop, and deliver training for space control systems and mission operations (e.g., offensive/defensive space control, SSA/SDA tools, electronic warfare systems) Apply Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles, such as the ADDIE model, to develop courses and instructional materials Conduct task analysis, training needs assessments, and job duty validations to support course development and updates Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and simulation-based training in both classified and unclassified environments Integrate real-world operational data and threat intelligence into training content Support mission rehearsal exercises, evaluation events, and proficiency checks for space control operators Maintain training documentation, lesson plans, student guides, and assessment tools Ensure compliance with DoD and USSF training requirements, STANAGs, and applicable security protocols Collaborate with system program offices, operators, doctrine developers, and intelligence analysts to ensure content relevancy Participate in training validation events, after-action reviews (AARs), and continuous improvement cycles Education / Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Space Operations, Systems Engineering, Instructional Design, or related field (required). Master's degree in Education, Strategic Studies, or a technical discipline (preferred) Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) Space 200/300 or USSF Professional Military Education (PME) graduate Benefits

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
