Tire Maintenance Worker I

A Tire Maintenance Worker I changes and repairs tires on a variety of vehicles. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive close supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work shift work, weekend work and are subject to callback. Work is performed in a tire shop where dirty, greasy shop conditions and fumes are regularly encountered. Work requires strenuous physical exertion. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE:

Have one year of experience in changing and repairing automobile, truck or heavy equipment tires. AND LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, & CERTIFICATIONS:

Have a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license, or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management is required. PROVISIONAL DRIVER'S LICENSE ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. NOTE: YOU MUST UPLOAD A COPY OF YOUR VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH APPLICATION AT TIME OF APPLYING. APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Knowledge of safety practices and procedures. Ability to change and repair tires on a variety of vehicles including cars, trucks or heavy equipment. Ability to follow instructions. Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed. Probation:

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month's probation. Eligibility:
