Accounting Assistant
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this role is essential to ensuring smooth financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and supporting payroll processes. Responsibilities: Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency. Reconcile bank statements to ensure all financial records are consistent and up-to-date. Assist in payroll preparation by verifying timesheets, calculating benefits, and generating payroll reports. Utilize QuickBooks to record and track financial data, ensuring precise documentation. Review and code invoices to maintain proper accounting standards. Respond to inquiries regarding accounts and financial discrepancies, providing clear and timely communication. Maintain and update procedural documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Collaborate with the Business Finance Manager and other team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Prepare financial reports and summaries to support decision-making within the organization. Manage sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring organized and accurate record-keeping. Requirements: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Two to five years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized records. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with bank reconciliations and invoice coding is highly desirable.
