Communications & Social Media Assistant
This is a part time student position at Texas Performing Arts. Both work study and non-work study students are encouraged to apply. Position is available to continue throughout student tenure. The Texas Performing Arts Marketing Team is looking for a self-starter with a passion for communications and social media and an interest in the performing arts. We want you to assist with planning, administration, execution, and evaluation of communication and social media campaigns; occasionally assist with day-of-show press duties; and provide general support for the day-to-day operation of the department. Assist with writing copy for marketing materials and social media Track social media trends and assist in the campaign planning for design and execution Assist with scheduling social media content Assist with maintaining social media calendar Create, update, and implement plans to support grassroots efforts Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record Dress appropriately for work in a casual, yet professional environment Other duties as assigned Previous experience in marketing, communications, or business Working knowledge of Mac OS and Microsoft Office Strong attention to detail Strong, independent, and collaborative work ethic Excellent written and verbal communication skills Current pursuit of a Business, Marketing, Communications, or Fine Arts degree Interest in the performing arts or arts administration as a career Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Ability to take initiative A valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record Yes $12.50/hour Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Prolonged screen time. Significant in person, over the phone, and written communication with members of the public. Physically able to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds. Works independently and unsupervised on a regular basis. Work collaboratively as member of a team with people of varied backgrounds. Standard 8am
5pm office hours. Some night and weekend work available in relation to performances and events.
