Role Overview

The physician will serve as a team leader within our patient care model, which utilizes a multi-faceted treatment team approach. Opportunities include working across various levels of care in both live and virtual settings, supporting patient admissions, developing protocols, and participating in quality assurance and peer reviews. Collaboration with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, and fellows is essential.

PRN Roles

PRN physicians may be individuals working elsewhere in the community interested in weekend or part-time support, or moonlighting residents in their third year of residency or higher.

Services

  1. Patient Attendance and Telehealth: Attend to patients at assigned sites and via telehealth, covering additional locations as needed. Refer patients to their primary physicians upon discharge and provide written/verbal summaries.
  2. Medical and Clinical Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric assessments, rounds, discharge summaries, emergency detentions, participate in quality activities, and supervise advanced practice providers.
  3. Payor Relations and Advocacy: Support contracting, maintain relationships with payors, review denials, coordinate care with referring providers, and promote the organization's visibility and reputation.
  4. Admissions Support: Assist with initial patient placement, review admissions, and communicate with team members and external providers to ensure appropriate care levels.
  5. Additional Responsibilities: Engage in community education, support program development, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Physical and Educational Requirements

  • Licensed MD/DO, board-eligible psychiatrist, with preferred board certification.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in behavioral health is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical and mental tasks as verified by a physical exam.
