Research Assistant
Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide. Function/Duties of Position
Synthesize and purify chemical building blocks and fluorophores. Conduct structural, purity and photophysical property characterization for the newly developed compounds. Clean glassware, organize reagents, restock supplies and update inventories. Participate in lab meetings and contribute to manuscripts and figures as needed (writing, figures, data). Required Qualifications
Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours) Preferred Qualifications
Major in Chemistry or related field One year wet lab experience Synthetic chemistry Additional Details
Part time, ~15-20 hr/week. Flexible work hrs. Able to be trained to assist synthetic organic chemistry lab work and optical data collection for the newly synthesized compounds in a chemistry lab. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. All Are Welcome
