The Facilities Management Division is seeking to hire a Fiscal Specialist III to join their team. This position performs specialized accounting and fiscal services work, such as the processing of permit invoices, accounts payable, account receivables, payroll, and legal and financial documents for the Finance and Payroll Section of Facilities Management Division within the Department of Executive Services.

In this position, you may:

Verify authorizations and account balances and code invoices/disbursements requests to ensure proper entry to accounting system. Ensure invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures. Prepare requisitions to process payments to contractors/consultants/agencies/vendors based on approved bills and invoices. Process I-expense reports, P-card receipts, ensuring appropriate approvals and documentation. Monitor and track payments, reconcile to payment records. Verify fund status, and alert Project Managers of any discrepancies. Establish finance files and keep all billing and payment documentation in chronological order. Monitor receivables accounts; prepare monthly status reports for management and supervisors; submit changes to accounts as needed; review monthly billings. Perform financial/numeric work, require the application of accepted bookkeeping or basic accounting methods and applications. Perform other duties as assigned. Two (2) or more years of professional experience processing, reviewing and/or monitoring accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working with automated accounting and payroll systems. Experience interpreting policies and procedures. Knowledge of accounting and higher-level mathematics. Demonstrated intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Word, and Outlook and other software applications relative to the position. Ability to multi-task, respond to unanticipated requests, and work under pressure within deadlines. Ability to provide clear information, directions, and training to technical and non-technical staff. Demonstrated experience providing effective and quality customer service. Strong organizational and advanced problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Desirable Qualifications:

Skill in creating Excel spreadsheets for data analysis including data filters, subtotals, pivot tables, and Vlookup. Knowledge of public sector accounting. Experience with Oracle, PeopleSoft, or other automated financial/payroll systems. HOW TO APPLY This recruitment is open to all King County employees and the public. ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION: This position is non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible. Normal business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. This position is represented by the Teamster L117.

WORK LOCATION The work associated with the position is currently being performed remotely but is anticipated to be in -office hybrid schedule as deemed necessary by FMD Leadership. The home base is the Administration Building located in downtown Seattle at 500 4th Ave.
