Program Coordinator, New Student Initiatives
The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Program Coordinator, New Student Initiatives in the Dean of Students Office. This role assists with planning and implementing all aspects of new student orientation and related programs to promote student persistence and graduation. Responsibilities include recruiting, selecting, training, and managing student Orientation staff, developing and facilitating training sessions, coordinating orientation logistics, and overseeing programs such as transfer student transition, Opening Weekend, and Wolf Pack Welcome. The Coordinator also assists with supervising all student staff, including Orientation Leaders, New Student Leaders, Pack Mentors, and student coordinators. This position reports to the Assistant Director, NSI. The Coordinator provides administrative oversight for program operations, including event coordination, database management, documentation, and compliance with university policies. They serve as the primary contact for program inquiries, facilitating communication among stakeholders, participants, and leadership while maintaining strong internal and external partnerships. Additional duties include implementing outreach strategies, managing recruitment efforts, coordinating program activities and special events, collecting and analyzing program data, preparing assessment reports, and recommending improvements. The Coordinator also supports budget monitoring, manages special projects, and ensures successful execution of program initiatives and objectives. This role plays a key part in fostering student success, persistence, and graduation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience. Related Experience : In college student development, retention and persistence programs, educational leadership, event programming and management or related experience. Schedule or Travel Requirements Flexible work hours during summer months Occasional travel may be required Compensation Grade Administrative Faculty
