Senior Manager, Engineering Engagement Platforms

The Senior Manager, Engineering is responsible for designing, architecting, planning, and overseeing interactive technologies and applications. The manager oversees multiple applications and initiatives; assigns work to team members and contractors; identifies enhancements and new solutions; determines project goals, phases, budgets and schedules; and reports on the results of the team's work. This is a hands-on position that also contributes to the team's development responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities: Work with colleagues and customers to create complex web interfaces and solutions. Serve as a team leader and provide guidance to staff members. Recommend solutions to improve current applications and the current code base of platforms, as well as provide input for future applications and architecture. Respond to incident and problem tickets across several applications; evaluate tickets and resolve them or delegate as necessary. Perform code, environment, and design reviews to ensure that quality work is being completed. Follow best practices to guarantee adherence to WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards. Analyze the impact of change requests on web architecture and projects. Escalate and respond to emergencies and urgent issues with the appropriate level of urgency and professionalism. Work closely with other internal UMGC teams to define and maintain the infrastructure necessary to support customers. Oversee development and administration of Dynamics CRM and applications using the platform. Approve all code releasing to production and perform deployment tasks including code deployment, data migration, and verification testing. Participate in 1:1 meetings and quarterly reviews with subordinates. Produce reports with Power BI or other analysis tools. Skills: Previous experience with managing a team or serving as a development lead. Ability to analyze technical problems and propose solutions. Possesses expertise in the development, testing, and operational support of web applications. Experience working in an agile development environment. Experience with working on Angular in developing portals and integrating with 3rd party applications. Knowledge and experience using the following technologies: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JSON, JavaScript, .NET, relational databases, Web Services, XML, and related technologies. Development and debugging experience with microservices such as Microsoft Azure Logic and Function Apps. Previous experience with Azure Data Factory. Flow, PowerApps, and Power Pages development within Microsoft's Power Automate platform. Experience with a variety of database systems including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgres. Education & Experience Requirements: Experience: 8 or more years of engineering manager or lead experience. 4 or more years of hands-on development, support and architecture experience. A bachelor's degree in a different field with a technical certificate is also acceptable with 8 years of related experience.
