Job Description
Responsibilities: Contribute to the design, development, and support of storage systems for high-volume, reliable, and scalable applications. Design, configure, implement, and test strategic IT storage solutions to meet complex technical and business requirements. Troubleshoot system issues using proven analysis techniques. Install and configure hardware and software, build and test production systems, and apply patches and upgrades. Train support teams on new tools and procedures, and incorporate feedback professionally. Support operational tasks such as migration, monitoring, maintenance, backups, and performance tuning. Manage device upgrades in collaboration with hardware teams. Automate routine maintenance tasks and ensure proper backup procedures. Participate in a 24x7 support rotation. Analyze complex issues, exercise judgment, and select appropriate methods for resolution. Serve as a VMware Subject Matter Expert. Qualifications
BSc in Computer Science, Math, or related field. At least 8 years of experience in Systems Administration/Engineering, with 5+ years in production support. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred. Experience with Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems. Relevant certifications for server and storage hardware. Advanced knowledge of IT storage systems, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Experience supporting multiple operating systems in large enterprise environments. Strong documentation skills and experience working in process-driven environments. Excellent communication skills, scripting proficiency (bash, perl, python). Additional Information
