Why does the job exist?
This position functions as a member of the Department of Health's (DOH) Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) project management office. This position is involved in the COVID -19 response and will manage and coordinate professional service requests and projects for COVID-19 response among other business needs of DOH programs and divisions. This position manages infrastructure upgrades and improvements which directly affect the expansion of data, including data resulting from and needed for the COVID-19 response. This position is responsible for providing project management and business analysis professional services to DOH Information Technology projects as assigned. This position will gather business process requirements, translate those requirements into technical definitions for ITSD staff and manage the scope, schedule and communications of IT projects for a variety of DOH business unit clients.
How does it get done?
Lead, manage and facilitate small and medium projects for the Department of Health. Provide project status reports (scope, budget, schedule, and risk) to multiple levels of management. Lead and facilitate both routine project meetings and formal project governance committee meetings. Document and maintain project document repositories. ¿ Manage professional service requests as assigned. ¿ Work with other IT teams within the DOH ¿ Interact with DOH project stakeholders for assigned projects ¿ Collaborate with other PMO team members on process improvements in the PMO and ITSD ¿ Perform vendor and procurement management for assigned projects

This position supports a variety of DOH and inter-agency business unit clients.
Ideal Candidate
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Two (2) years of experience providing information technology project management Experience with a variety of project management methodologies Experience with IT infrastructure projects Experience with Software development and software implementation projects.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, or Information Technology and four (4) years of experience in software development, project management, or systems analysis, with a minimum two (2) years of experience in the PM role. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. CAPM/PMI- ACP certification may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. PMP/PgMP certification may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
