Our Federal Group seeks a Senior Process Engineer to support our expanding work in DOE and DOD Energetics Production Facilities. The successful candidate will:
- Have experience with energetics or explosives system design (synthesis, handling, mixing, and charging)
- Apply explosive-safety requirements into designs
- Manage project execution from initial process studies, support of cost estimates, to detailed design and EPC project execution
- Understand project development steps and the required level of detail
- Develop PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process data independently
- Demonstrate leadership within the discipline on multidisciplinary teams
- Create process models using Aspen, Hysys, ChemCAD, or Excel
- Support business development through engineering estimates and proposals
This role requires a problem-solver capable of adapting standard techniques and devising new approaches. Travel up to 25% may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering or related from an ABET-accredited program with 7+ years of process engineering experience, EPC experience preferred
- Or Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering Technology with 7+ years of experience, passing the FE exam
- Or Master's in Chemical Engineering with 6+ years of experience
- 10+ years of energetics/explosives experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of engineering techniques, procedures, and codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE)
- Proficiency in process simulation software (Hysys, Aspen, HTRI) preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership experience in large projects
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Attention to detail, team building, organization, problem-solving skills
- Ability to review engineering documents
- Ability to travel
- PE license preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoE or DoD Security Clearance
Compensation
$145,000 - $220,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, including base salary and potential bonuses.
