The position focuses on early-stage legal strategy, factual development, client counseling, and negotiation before formal litigation begins. This is a critical role within our legal team, aimed at setting the tone and trajectory of each case through thorough case vetting, legal analysis, and early resolution efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of employment-related matters in the pre-litigation phase, including claims of wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, retaliation, and discrimination.
  • Conduct detailed client interviews, assess legal claims, and develop case strategies.
  • Draft demand letters, legal memos, and early-stage legal documents.
  • Gather and review evidence including personnel files, wage statements, and written communications.
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate directly with opposing counsel to seek early resolution.
  • Collaborate with intake, litigation, and operations teams to ensure smooth case progression.
  • Prepare matters for litigation handoff when pre-suit resolution is not possible.
  • Maintain strong client communication throughout the case lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Active member of the California Bar.
  • 7+ years of experience in employment law litigation, including substantial exposure to wage and hour, class action, and PAGA matters.
  • Experience drafting demand letters and negotiating pre-suit settlements.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Empathetic, strategic, and solutions-oriented approach to client matters.
