Senior Accountant - Cost & Inventory Control
Are you an experienced Senior Accountant with expertise in inventory and cost accounting? We are seeking a qualified individual to join a stable South Bay manufacturing company. This role involves managing inventory control, PPV, variance analysis, physical counts, and cost accounting. The ideal candidate should be autonomous, demonstrate leadership, and possess project management skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 5-10 years of accounting experience
- Experience in inventory and/or cost accounting
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory and cost accounting functions ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including purchases, transfers, and adjustments
- Perform cost analysis and variance reporting to support operational efficiency
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes related to inventory and cost accounting
- Maintain and improve standard costing methodologies and ensure proper cost allocation
- Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and finance teams to optimize inventory management and costs
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures for efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations
- Train and mentor junior staff to foster growth
