Fire Protection Engineer - Casual and Remote . We are seeking a professional to support projects primarily from our
Chicago Headquarters , utilizing our
flexible hybrid model
that includes
engineering, design, and specification of fire protection systems
for various sectors such as governmental, education, commercial, and entertainment. Responsibilities include: Proficient in Revit and CAD for fire protection drawings Developing sections, riser diagrams, and elevations of complex equipment and piping areas Determining equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases Creating and editing specifications and scope of work to meet project requirements Equipment selection and scheduling with limited oversight Vendor meetings for specification requirements Evaluating contractor pricing and cost estimates Responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals Managing design processes across multiple projects within work plan hours Collaborating with team, project managers, and clients to meet milestones Resolving installation issues on-site Conducting site surveys independently Researching codes and liaising with code officials Applying knowledge of NFPA, IBC, ASHRAE, ASME, OSHA standards Writing specifications, studies, and reports for fire protection systems Designing fire pump layouts and conducting flow tests Understanding gas suppression, deluge, pre-action systems, and high-rise design Applying risk management procedures daily Coordinating construction activities and ensuring compliance Gaining experience with fire modeling software and fire hazard analysis Qualifications: 4+ years of fire protection design experience in commercial projects Degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering (preferred) Registered Fire Protection Engineer or eligible Proficiency in REVIT MEP and AutoCAD Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits The salary range for this role is
$125,000 to $150,000 , with benefits including health insurance, vacation, and 401(k). About EXP:
