Purpose

To provide support to the department by creating outreach materials, maintaining a shared events calendar, and assisting with coordination for professional development event and engagement activities. This role helps raise visibility of department research and academic activities.

Responsibilities Draft and design outreach materials for seminars, events, programs, and announcements

Maintain a shared event calendar; research and monitor relevant department events.

Assist with the logistics and setup of in-person and virtual events, including seminars, recruitment sessions, and meetings.

Format slides, signage, flyers, and other promotional assets.

Help with event logistics such as room reservations, catering orders, materials prep, and event breakdown.

Other event or administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Interest in event promotion, event coordination, or communications.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Strong, independent, and collaborative work ethic.

Current UT Austin student, enrolled/registered with fees paid for the current semester and in good academic standing.

Financial aid work-study recipient.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with UT Austin's communication channels and event spaces.

Salary Range

$15.00 Hourly

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Use of manual dexterity

Light lifting and moving

Work Shift

Must be available to work 10-15 hours per week.

Flexible work hours between Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, based on students' class schedule.
