The CEO is responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the Surgical Hospital, with the primary goal of providing efficient surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations. Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily operations of the facility. Serve as liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and departments. Report activities to the Governing Board. Appoint responsible personnel in the absence of the CEO. Plan and oversee service provision and facility operation. Manage the partnership as per the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement. Lead discussions during Monthly Operations Review with USPI’s Home Office. Ensure USPI’s EDGETM is integrated into operational and QPI processes. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Develop and monitor staffing, budgets, and purchasing plans. Negotiate external contracts. Foster positive work relationships and serve as liaison with USPI’s Home Office. Personnel Administration:

Hold staff meetings and manage employee performance. Review and approve disciplinary actions and staffing changes. Develop employee training and development programs. Clinical Services:

Ensure compliance of surgical programs with standards. Collaborate on development of surgical services. Manage clinical departments and contracted services. Marketing and Planning:

Develop marketing strategies and lead sales efforts. Identify new service opportunities. Quality Improvement:

Implement continuous quality improvement programs. Manage infection control and quality reviews. Medical Staff Relationships:

Oversee credentialing and collaborate on bylaws. Foster positive relationships with physicians. Facility Management:

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment. Approve improvements and repairs. Administrative Representation:

Attend corporate meetings and represent the facility. Stay current on healthcare industry changes. Personal Development and Professionalism:

Identify training needs and participate in professional development. Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master’s preferred. Experience in hospital or surgical hospital management. Minimum 5 years of progressive healthcare management experience. Excellent communication skills. USPI complies with vaccination laws; exemptions may require regular testing.
