Overview

Position: Administrator / Chief Administrative Officer for United Surgical Partners International (USPI) facility, under the umbrella of Healthcare Partners Investments (HPI) and Tenet Healthcare network. The role focuses on directing and coordinating all operating functions, processes, and staff to efficiently provide surgical services and achieve optimal clinical and financial performance. Position Summary

United Surgical Partners is a company that develops and operates Ambulatory Surgical Facilities across the US. The CEO is responsible for directing, coordinating and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the Surgical Hospital while demonstrating the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations. The Governing Board may determine other qualifications as seen fit. Key Responsibilities (Functional Expectations)

Oversee the daily operation of the facility. Serve as liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and all departments; report facility activities to the Governing Board. Appoint a interim or stand-in person for the facility in the Administrator’s absence. Plan services and oversee facility operations; manage the Partnership per applicable agreements. Lead Monthly Operations Review discussions with USPI’s Home Office team and ensure EDGETM integration within the facility’s QPI program. Ensure compliance with USPI policies and internal controls; manage staffing, operating and capital budgets; oversee purchasing plans and group purchasing compliance. Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies; negotiate and manage external contracts (physicians, ancillary services, maintenance, purchasing). Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards. Foster positive interdepartmental relationships and act as liaison between Home Office and facility staff. Develop and enforce departmental policies and procedures; monitor financial performance to prevent cash flow issues. Organizational Leadership – Expectations & Requirements

Clinical Services: Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards; collaborate with Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee to develop services; manage nursing, central supply, medical records, housekeeping and contracted services; oversee equipment maintenance. Marketing and Planning: Develop sales/marketing plans; identify new ambulatory surgery services; maintain positive public relations. Quality Improvement: Develop and promote a continuous quality improvement program; administer infection control; participate in the Quality Improvement Committee. Medical Staff Relationships: Manage credentialing; collaborate on Medical Staff Bylaws; liaise with medical staff; balance physician and patient needs to optimize services. Physical Plant: Maintain a clean, professional environment; approve plant improvements; ensure safety and aesthetic standards; maintain records for emergencies, utilities, security and drills. Administrative Representation: Attend corporate meetings; align with facility vision and mission; stay active in professional associations; monitor healthcare changes and act in the corporation’s best interest. Candidate Experience, Attributes & Education

Personnel Administration: Lead monthly staff meetings; manage exempt and non-exempt staff; conduct performance reviews; manage disciplinary actions; oversee staffing levels and hiring approvals; implement orientation and ongoing staff development; maintain employee records; foster positive customer relations. Personal Development and Professionalism: Pursue continued education; attend mandatory trainings; uphold privacy and confidentiality; communicate effectively with staff, physicians, patients and visitors. Experience: Hospital (emphasis on Surgical Division) or Surgical Hospital experience is required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in health professions, business/public administration or related field; Nursing or Master’s degree preferred; minimum three years in a top administrative/management role in healthcare; strong English communication skills; ability to work effectively with physicians, staff and patients.
