About the Role

The Company is seeking a Corporate Credit Underwriter/Manager for the Energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of junior Energy Underwriters and overseeing all underwriting activities within a large and complex portfolio. This role is pivotal in the company's business control and governance framework, with a focus on providing integrated credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit risk. The Corporate Credit Underwriter/Manager will be expected to adopt leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of credit approval packages. Additionally, the role involves maintaining key client relationships, coordinating projects, and supporting strategic initiatives within the underwriting team.

Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years' of risk-related credit work experience in banking or financial institutions, with a preference for those with specific experience in the energy sector. The role requires the ability to manage a team, provide first-line-of-defense credit approval, and mentor junior team members. A strong background in financial analysis, stress testing, and the ability to understand complex financing and product structures is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of engaging with regulators, internal control functions, and external audits, and will demonstrate strong ethics, integrity, and the ability to make decisions under pressure. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required, along with excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
