About the Role

The Company is seeking a NAM Corporate Credit Underwriter/Manager with a focus on the energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of junior energy underwriters and overseeing all underwriting activities within a large and complex portfolio. This role is pivotal in the company's efforts to enhance its business control and governance framework, particularly in the area of credit risk management. The key responsibilities include providing first-line-of-defense credit approval, ensuring the adoption of leading practices in credit analysis and monitoring, and maintaining strong relationships with key clients in banking and risk. The role also involves coordinating projects, optimizing resource allocations, and supporting strategic initiatives within the underwriting function.

Applicants must have a proven track record in managing people and teams, with at least 8 years of risk-related credit work experience in banking or financial institutions. Specific credit experience within the energy sector is preferred, including knowledge of reserve-based lending structures, commodity derivatives, and leveraged financings. The role requires the ability to understand complex financial and product structures, provide strategic insights, and engage effectively with regulators and internal control functions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, demonstrate strong ethics and integrity, and possess excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. The ability to make decisions under pressure, see the big picture in a complex environment, and navigate organizational complexity is essential.
