Role Overview:

The Manager, Finance & Accounting plays a critical role in enabling Genesis Research to plan and scale its growth initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer or the Director, Finance & Accounting, this role combines financial planning and analysis with core accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of managing day-to-day financial operations while providing insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Develop and maintain financial models and variance analysis reports.
• Create and present reporting packages and dashboards for leadership.
• Monitor real-time financial performance and escalate issues as needed.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives.
• Contribute to CRM & ERP optimization.

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance.
• Manage bank transactions and cash flow.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead quarterly and year-end audit activities and corporate financial controls audits.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Act as a lead and super user for the financial system.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial planning, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial systems as well as ERP and CRM platforms.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and performance management skills.
• Experience in professional services and global finance with ASC 606 revenue recognition is a plus.
