Base pay range

$175,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

A leading investment firm in Manhattan is seeking a Fund Accountant to support its growing real estate debt investment platform. This role will be integral in managing accounting, reporting, and fund operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records while preparing detailed investor and management reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, experience in real estate or debt investments, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment!
Job Function

• Maintain the general ledger for assigned real estate debt funds, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and fund agreements.
• Monitor investment activity including loan originations, repayments, interest accruals, and fee income.
• Assist in the preparation of capital account statements, investor reporting packages, and capital call/distribution notices.
• Liaise with external fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with fund agreements and regulatory requirements.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to senior management, portfolio managers, and investor relations.
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.
• 510+ years of fund accounting, public accounting, or real estate/debt investment accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of investment fund structures, financial reporting, and partnership accounting.
• Experience with real estate, structured finance, private credit, or debt instruments preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills; Yardi or Investran experience a plus.
