American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg, Tele, and PCU Float Pool position requiring recent PCU experience and the ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam.Job Details•Work in an acute care float pool covering Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units across two hospital campuses,•Patient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, and post-cardiac procedure patients, such as post-MI, post-cath, and post-CABG,•Care for patients with needs including cardiac monitoring, titratable drips, and respiratory support such as CPAP and BiPAP,•Nurse to patient ratios: PCU 1:4; Med/Surg Tele 1:5-6,•Shifts are 12 hours, days, with every other weekend required,•Scheduling is managed by the float pool scheduler and will be published six weeks in advance,•First to float within the staffing pool; assignments are communicated by text two hours before shift start,•Uses Cerner EMR; experience with Cerner is preferred,•Floating includes inpatient units and holding patients in the ED,•No on-call requirements,Job Requirements•Active RN license in the state or Compact (NLC) license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted,•Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted,•Minimum of 2 years RN experience, including at least 1 year in a PCU setting,•Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts prior to contract,•Comfortable with titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin,•Ability to interpret cardiac strips independently,•Must not have been employed (FT, PT, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year,•Residence must be at least 50 miles from facility for eligibility,•Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years,•Copy of a valid driver's license required for consideration,Additional Information•Provide comprehensive nursing care, including managing complex cardiac patients and assisting with post-procedural recovery,•Must be comfortable supporting diverse units and patient acuity levels as part of a flexible float pool,•Cross-campus float between East and West hospital sites with 20-25 minute transit time,•Monitor techs provide support for rhythm monitoring; RNs are responsible for interpretation,•Charge nurses do not carry patient assignments; nurse aides are available in all units,•Professional solid color scrubs required; navy scrubs to align with new uniform guidelines in October,•Includes rotation for holiday coverage along with permanent staff,•Orientation includes a general day, plus 12-hour unit shifts; East campus is smaller and easy to adapt to,•Testing on sterile technique for Foley and central line dressing required during orientation,•Failure of required pre-employment or orientation testing will result in ineligibility with CommonSpirit facilities in the region for 6 months,),•hash,:•18408328800994795653,
