American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a night shift, requiring at least 2 years of experience and current ACLS and BLS certifications.Job Details•Work in an acute care setting on a 48-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit with surgical and neuro focus,•Patient population includes COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, TIA, CVA, general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical cases,•Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5,•Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience is recommended due to limited orientation,•Required to work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend rotation,•Weekends are required; 2 weekends per 4-week schedule,•Floating to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified may be required,•No on-call or standby shifts are required,•Tele is monitored remotely; RNs must interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift,•CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and breathing treatment equipment utilized on the unit,Job Requirements•Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC) is required at the time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted,•Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience is required,•Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required,•Experience reading basic telemetry strips and caring for general and orthopedic surgical, CVA, and TIA patients is required,•Cerner EMR experience is recommended,•Must provide a copy of driver's license for consideration,•Two professional references are required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years including employment dates and eligibility for rehire,•Passage of Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) is required prior to offer for assignments in Arizona,•Must pass a sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on orientation day,•Candidates must not have been employed at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year,•Must reside at least 50 miles from facility if permanently living in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN,Additional Information•Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and caring for a diverse surgical, medical, and neuro patient population,•Charge nurse is present and does not take a patient assignment,•Support staff includes nurse aides with a 1:10-15 ratio,•Self-scheduling is used but finalized by management,•Holiday coverage is required for major holidays, with specific expectations for shift distribution around Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving,•One shift of unit- and department-specific orientation is provided,•Navy blue scrubs are required,•Candidates must pass all testing requirements or will be ineligible for six months at CommonSpirit facilities in Arizona,),•hash,:•10333530153425092898,
