This position will monitor events in various Allen ISD facilities to ensure that users follow proper health, safety, and security protocol. This position will provide direction and assistance in resolving issues and emergency situations.

This is a temporary/seasonal position, working 0 to 15 hours per week on an as needed basis. Shifts are scheduled based on the quantity of events occurring and event needs.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision. Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with the general public. The ability to convey specific event information in a friendly, outgoing, and positive manner. Availability to work outside of business hours including possible early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Locations may be indoor or outdoor in various types of weather. Knowledge of health, fire, and safety codes and emergency procedures related to the use of public event facilities. Experience:

Work or experience in hospitality and/or customer service is a plus. Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Serve as a representative of the facility for users. Open, close and secure assigned event facility. Setup, arrange, tear down event furniture as assigned. Perform check in and check out duties with facility users. Monitor event to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Report safety and sanitary hazards/issues. Exercise proper judgment in answering questions and requests so as not to make administrative decisions or perform administrative functions. Comply with standards of conduct as specified in the employee handbook (dress code, personal appearance, behavior and ready to work at scheduled start time). Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Customer Care Skills:

Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times. Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others. Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe. Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands:

Continuous walking, standing, repetitive work tasks and occasionally required to walk long distances including but not limited to ramps and stairs.

Tools/Equipment Used : Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.

Posture:

Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion:

Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting:

Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment:

May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel

Mental Demands:

Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress

Salary: Supplemental TEMP Pay Rate $25/hour Days:
