The Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, preparing, and staging metal products and materials for customer orders and internal production needs. This role ensures timely fulfillment while maintaining safety, accuracy, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Pick and prepare metal materials according to customer orders and production schedules. Read and interpret work orders, labels, and inventory documentation. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material-handling equipment safely (with certification). Inspect and verify materials for size, type, and quality before staging or shipment. Band, package, and secure orders for transport. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements. Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or order picking preferred. Ability to read and interpret work orders and product specifications. Forklift or crane certification a plus (training may be provided). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Physical ability to lift, move, and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing setting. Team-oriented with effective communication skills.
