Assistant Credit Manager
Diamond Plastics Corporation is one of today's leading PVC pipe producers in North America and one of the largest producers in the world. Diamond Plastics has seven manufacturing facilities located strategically across the United States.
The position is responsible for but not limited to: Supports the Credit Manager in evaluating credit risk, maintaining customer accounts, and managing collection efforts. This role will progressively take over the Office Manager's credit-related duties, providing continuity and support for credit processes.
Essential Functions Assist in pulling and reviewing reports to assess credit risk of new and existing customers. Support the credit analysis process by gathering data, reviewing payment histories, and preparing documentation for review by the Credit Manager, including basic financial statement and analysis. Maintain accurate and updated customer credit files, including contact information, tax exemption certificates, and credit limits. Collaborate with internal departments (sales, customer service, and plant personnel) to support credit approval and order release processes. Assist with monitoring accounts receivable and identifying delinquent accounts. Make initial collection contacts and follow up on past-due accounts under the guidance of the Credit Manager. Aid in the investigation and resolution of customer invoicing discrepancies, debit memos, and credit inquiries. Respond and correspond all credit reference checks on new credit applications and updating existing accounts. Respond to incoming credit reference checks on existing customers. Send credit approval and denial letters to customers. Maintain credit files. Assist with Debit Memo inquiries/investigations. Comply with company standards, rules, policies and applicable state and federal credit laws. Attend a credit seminar annually. Other tasks as assigned. Experience and Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferred or Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. NACM certification(s) a plus.
• 3 or more years credit support experience preferred in manufacturing or similar environment.
Computer Skills:
Basic keyboards and 10-key skills for data entry. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Knowledge with CMA and NACM websites and reporting tools preferred.
