Mortgage Origination Professionals
to join our dynamic Customer Service team at the FHA Resource Center located in Indianapolis, IN. Our team plays a crucial role in supporting the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in their mission to foster strong, sustainable, and inclusive communities while ensuring quality affordable housing for all. As a Mortgage Origination Customer Service Specialist, you will leverage your experience as a Loan Processor, Loan Officer, Underwriter, or other loan origination roles to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others, while deepening your understanding of Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage policies and procedures. As a Mortgage Origination Customer Service Specialist, your responsibilities will include: Delivering exceptional customer service by responding to diverse calls and emails from the lending industry and the public regarding FHA guidelines and procedures.
Utilizing your mortgage industry knowledge to find answers in knowledge databases to address client inquiries effectively.
Adhering to standard operating procedures for various topics, systems, and communication channels.
Documenting all interactions accurately within our database.
Staying up-to-date with FHA mortgage processes and procedures.
To excel in this role, you should have: The skill to navigate multiple computer systems and applications while using search tools effectively.
Excellent time management skills and a proven track record of dependability.
Strong written and verbal communication capabilities, including telephone etiquette.
Proficiency in keyboarding, with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute.
Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED certificate
At least 2 years of mortgage origination experience (e.g., loan processor, loan originator, junior underwriter, loan officer)
Minimum of 1 year of contact center experience or customer service experience via telephone
Able to obtain a Public Trust Security clearance, which involves a credit check and background investigation
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge or background in FHA
Experience in a contact center (Omnichannel)
