The primary purpose of the Health Care Supervisor (HCS) position is to directly supervise the Health Care Technician I's. This includes supervision of the employees' performance related to maintaining health and safety, ensuring continuous active treatment through implementation of both formal treatment objectives and incidental teaching at all available opportunities, and in promoting a positive work culture. The HCS must monitor (through formal and informal observations) the Health Care Technicians in all environments where work is performed, and provide regular feedback. The HCS provides coaching/modeling and mentoring to all staff on assigned shift by acting as the floater between assigned area homes. The HCS rotates between each area home each shift, working in coverage and counted in staffing numbers when necessary, The HCS shall perform resident care, and staff monitoring throughout the duration of their shifts excluding established paperwork time, splitting time between each staff member to assist and model active treatment, thorough documentation, ensure resident safety, and maximize quality of care.
The HCS is responsible for implementing residents' plans through direct resident service provision and through the coordination of the efforts of the Trainer staff for whom they provide direct supervision. The HCS will integrate individualized therapeutic recommendations listed in the Person Centered Plan (PCP) into activities in the areas of self-determination, communication, pro-social behavior, fine and gross motor skills, positioning, eating, assistive technology and other recommendations as noted in the PCP. The HCS uses a variety of formal and informal systems to provide training and feedback to both probationary and permanent employees assigned to their shift. The HCS is responsible for providing on-the-job training of skills taught during the month of initial training for HCT Is assigned to their shift to ensure skills taught during this training are fully generalized and maintained in the natural environments.
This position is scheduled to work 40 hrs per week (8 hour days, Monday - Friday and a rotating weekend schedule).
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Salary Grade MH04: Recruitment Range $34,437.00 - $49,195.00
