Overview Northeast Florida, United States (Approximately 2 hours north of Orlando and 30 minutes from the Georgia border) Join a growing and fast-paced laboratory team committed to delivering high-quality histopathology services to support accurate and timely diagnoses. This full-time, on-site opportunity offers a hands-on role for an experienced histology professional looking to contribute their skills in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. About the Role As a Histologist, you'll play a key role in the daily operations of the histology lab, with responsibilities spanning from specimen grossing and embedding to microtomy and staining. You'll handle a variety of tissue types, with a focus on dermatology and breast core specimens, ensuring specimens are processed efficiently and with the highest attention to detail. You'll also contribute to quality control and workflow consistency, working closely with fellow lab staff to maintain accuracy, safety, and compliance with industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a team-oriented mindset who's ready to take ownership of daily lab functions in a high-impact setting. Key Responsibilities Perform specimen grossing and embedding, particularly for dermatology and breast core biopsies Cut tissue sections using microtomy and prepare slides with appropriate staining techniques (H&E and others as needed) Maintain and troubleshoot histology equipment and instruments Adhere to quality control protocols and laboratory safety procedures Collaborate with pathology and lab teams to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing Assist with maintaining lab supplies, reagents, and documentation Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal SOPs Why Apply Work in a supportive and growing lab with a clear impact on patient care Opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of specimen types and advanced histology techniques Contribute to a dedicated team focused on high standards, quality, and collaboration Enjoy life in Northeast Florida, just 2 hours north of Orlando and close to the scenic Atlantic coast and Georgia border Job Requirements ASCP certification (HT or HTL) required Florida State license as a Histotechnologist required Bachelor's degree in Biology, Medical Technology, or a related field preferred Experience in grossing and embedding, especially with dermatologic and breast tissue specimens Strong knowledge of histology and pathology workflows Familiarity with lab quality control procedures and compliance standards Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
