Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Profession: IR Tech/Special Procedure Tech
Specialty: Interventional Radiology
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10 hour days
Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week
Experience: Preferred 2 years of IR or Cath Lab experience
License: BLS
Certifications: ARRT
Must-Have:
- Ability to assist physicians with arteriograms and other specialized radiologic procedures.
- Knowledge of sterile technique in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Skills to prepare examination areas and position patients for procedures.
- Ability to operate complex radiology equipment in accordance with established techniques and routines.
- Proficiency in passing materials and taking exposures as directed.
- Capability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care across various age groups.
Description:
This position involves assisting physicians during interventional radiology procedures.
The role requires preparing the exam area and ensuring sterile technique is maintained.
You will assist with vascular procedures, neurovascular procedures, biopsies, drains, and lines.
Responsibilities include passing supplies, filming cases, and transporting patients.
Fluoroscopy equipment and ultrasound are utilized in this role.
Experience with EPIC charting is required.
You will be expected to assist physicians as necessary during procedures.
Flexibility to work a varied shift schedule is essential.
Call requirements include 8-9 shifts every 6 weeks during the work week, weekends, and holidays.
The unit consists of 5 procedure rooms.
Surgical scrubs will be provided as part of the dress code.
A thorough understanding of the OSF Call Off Policy is necessary, which allows for the equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalties for cancellation.
