Pay Information $2,201 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years experience preferred 3 years. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced, NRP. Must-Have: Experience circulating for Cesarean sections, competent in immediate newborn care, and performing sterile vaginal exams. Description: This is a fast-paced and high-acuity labor and delivery unit. It requires nurses to be comfortable in challenging situations. The unit has a patient ratio of 2:1 with an average of 20 births every 24 hours. There are 30-40 admits and 40 visits per day in this unit. The patient population includes obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum and high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. The unit also accommodates high-risk patients under 16 weeks. The Birthing Care Unit has a triage area for screening patients prior to admission. Additionally, the unit performs routine outpatient procedures such as antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration. Both scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births are performed on this unit. The unit requires floating to other areas as needed. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. A strong preference is given to nurses with circulating experience in the operating room. All candidates must be prepared to work in a very busy environment.
