Job DescriptionA well-established commercial services company is seeking a Director of Service Operations to lead and manage all aspects of its independent service division. This department operates with its own P&L and is run separately from the construction side of the business, requiring a leader who can bring focus, structure, and proactive management. This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Owner, with the Director of Sales and the Service Manager reporting to you. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational leadership, financial accountability, and building high-performing teams. Industry experience in commercial HVAC is strongly preferred but not required for the right leader. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily service operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and exceptional customer satisfaction. Lead and develop the service team, including Service Supervisors and Service Sales staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance. Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial decisions to meet corporate profitability goals. Implement strategic plans to drive operational efficiency and growth. Establish processes, guidelines, and proactive planning to reduce last-minute operational challenges. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards. Recruit, train, and mentor team members to build a cohesive, high-performing department. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). 3-5 years of senior operational management experience; commercial HVAC background strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience in P&L management, budgeting, and strategic planning. Proven ability to build efficient processes and streamline operations. Calm, steady leadership style with the ability to handle high-pressure situations. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. History of good tenure in previous roles is a must.
