Pay Information $1,835 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, EKG rhythm certification Must-Have: Neuro and Cardiac experience Description: This is an observation unit with 25 beds. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1 during days and 5:1 during nights. The unit consists of a CNC, 6-7 RNs, 2 techs, and 1 unit secretary. Equipment available includes Alaris Pumps, tele-tracking, iMobile communication, B450 monitors, and a Pyxis system. Documentation is done using Meditech. Schedule requires full-time staff to work 36 hours and every third weekend. Part-time staff must work 24 hours and every third weekend. PRN staff must complete 3 shifts a month, with one shift on a weekend. Travelers contract for 36 hours and every other weekend. Floating policies are implemented on a rotation to meet the hospital's needs. Responsibilities include triaging acute care patients and identifying life-threatening rhythms. Advanced skills required include: - Glucose monitoring - Foley insertion - Dressing changes - EKGs - Peritoneal dialysis Dress code requires black scrubs for RNs, royal blue for techs, and grey for unit secretaries. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory, and crocs are not permitted. The unit has won multiple awards, such as the Daisy Award for Nurses and the BEE Award for techs.
