Med/Surg RN Job Details Assignment Length: 13 weeks Healthcare Setting: Specialty hospital - Medical/Surgical unit Location: Detroit, Michigan 48236 - prime location for Michigan nursing jobs Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week Weekly Hours: 36 hours Start Date: ASAP Estimated Weekly Salary: $1380 - $1480 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - Michigan or compact state BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg nursing (2 years preferred) Experience in medical-surgical or specialty hospital units preferred Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg unit Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care Perform comprehensive patient and family assessments, addressing physical, emotional, social, and educational needs Develop, update, and implement individualized nursing care plans, including discharge planning Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with hospital and healthcare policies Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and manage emergency situations Accurately document all nursing care and interventions in a timely manner Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards Educate patients and families, and make appropriate healthcare referrals Join our Detroit healthcare team and make a difference in patient outcomes.
