About the Role
The Company is in need of an Interim CFO to provide strategic financial leadership and operational oversight. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing all financial and job cost accounting functions, leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with industry requirements. Building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners, managing risk across insurance and employee benefit programs, and overseeing IT systems in partnership with an outside service provider are also key responsibilities. The role requires a hands-on approach, proven leadership, and the ability to quickly assess organizational needs and implement effective strategies.
Applicants for the Interim CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a CPA or MBA being preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of progressive financial leadership experience, particularly within the heavy civil construction, infrastructure, or a related industry, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in mid-sized companies and experience with specific accounting and estimating software is also preferred. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, as is the ability to partner cross-functionally with executives and project teams. The role is a 4-6 month contract and requires the candidate to be onsite for a significant portion of the workweek.
