About the Role
The Company is in need of a strategic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial operations. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for driving the company's financial strategy, supporting sustainable growth, and ensuring long-term financial strength. This executive will oversee all financial operations, including job cost accounting, and will be the primary point of contact for external auditors and accounting firms. Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with financial institutions, bonding agencies, insurers, and benefits administrators is also a critical aspect of the role. The CFO will manage the full cycle of budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry-specific standards, and will be involved in risk management strategies across various financial programs.
Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, with a CPA and/or MBA being highly desirable. Extensive experience in a senior financial leadership role, particularly as a CFO in the heavy civil construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors, is required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction accounting practices, cost controls, and regulatory compliance, as well as proven leadership and team-building abilities. Advanced proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and enterprise software relevant to the construction industry is essential. Familiarity with specific construction industry software is strongly preferred. The CFO will also be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing accounting team.
