Job Title
Adhere by the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) policies and procedures as it relates to OBSERVING & RECORDING testing for skills for nursing assistants in the State of Utah. Each Registered Nurse must be in good standing with the Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing (DOPL) and observe and record each examinees performed skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Must be able to be punctual and set up/clean the testing room at the beginning/ending of their shift in order for the testing room to be conducive of testing. Must be able to use TMU to successfully observe each examinee and submit test information at the end of each shift. Must be able to clean and put all testing materials and equipment back in place after each examinee. Must be able to provide availability of dates at least 1-3 months in advance to allow for students to schedule testing dates. Performs skills competency evaluations for nursing assistant certification. Must follow all federal regulations, state rules, and UNAR policies and procedures. Must be trained and found competent by the UNAR State Skills Examiner Specialist prior to any testing. Must attend all required skills training conferences required by UNAR. Performs other related duties as requested by Salt Lake Community College and the office of UNAR. Must have outstanding customer service manners/skills to serve our diverse population. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Minimum Qualifications
All skills observers must be UNAR approved prior to extending an SLCC job offer by meeting all minimum requirements and completing UNAR skills training and being found competent by the UNAR State Skills Specialist prior to functioning as a skills examiner. Skills observers must be a registered nurse with an active license to practice nursing in the State of Utah and in good standing with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Must have at least 1 year of experience as an RN providing care for the elderly or chronically ill of any age as a registered nurse in the United States. *Not all nursing experience meets this criteria.* Please note experience as a CNA, nursing student or other experience does not count as the one year, unless the experience was started as a registered nurse in the United States. Preferred Qualifications
Registered Nurse with experience testing nursing assistants. Registered Nurse already approved by UNAR to be a Skills Observer. Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred.
