Responsibilities
Manage all on-site construction activities for a $450M project, including a 7-star hotel and luxury high-rise residences, from groundbreaking to completion.
Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality craftsmanship, particularly for bespoke finishes and intricate designs.
Develop and enforce detailed project schedules, coordinating trades to meet critical milestones and avoid delays.
Ensure strict compliance with OSHA safety regulations, Miami-Dade County building codes, and coastal environmental standards (e.g., hurricane preparedness).
Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to architectural and engineering plans.
Collaborate with project executives, architects, engineers, and clients to resolve issues, such as design conflicts or material shortages, in real time.
Utilize construction management software for scheduling, documentation, and communication (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid).
Maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
Mentor and train assistant superintendents and field staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
Mitigate risks unique to Miami, including weather-related delays, permitting challenges, and labor shortages.
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 7 years as a General Superintendent or Lead Superintendent for a large general contractor.
Experience managing at least 3 high-value projects (hospitality or luxury residential, $100M+ each), including at least one high-rise hotel or residence (20+ floors).
Proven expertise in overseeing complex, multimillion-dollar projects with bespoke finishes and high-end specifications.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment for 7-star hotels and luxury residences.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and scheduling tools.
In-depth understanding of Miami-Dade County building codes, permitting processes, and coastal construction regulations.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to field management.
OSHA 30 certification required; additional certifications (e.g., CCM, LEED AP, crane operation) preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field a plus.
Established relationships with South Florida subcontractors and suppliers preferred.
Preferred Skills
Experience managing hi end hotel or ultra-luxury residential projects in South Florida.
Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL Building Standard).
