Mantell Associates is a leading global CDMO, who is seeking a seasoned, commercially savvy Director of Business Development to drive growth across the East Coast USA. Responsibilities
Develop and execute a compelling commercial strategy to grow CDMO services - including drug substance, drug product, and analytical capabilities - across the East Coast life sciences ecosystems Lead full-cycle business development: from prospecting and relationship-building to proposal development, negotiation, and closing deals Build and maintain strategic partnerships with biotech, pharma, and advanced therapy organizations in key markets across the East Coast Collaborate closely with internal functions - R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance - to align service offerings with client needs and deliver tailored solutions Monitor regional market trends, assess competitive landscape, and refine value proposition to maximize differentiation and client impact Represent the company at industry events, scientific conferences, and partnering forums to deepen market presence and drive pipeline development Qualifications
7+ years of proven business development or commercial leadership experience within a CDMO or biopharma services environment Demonstrated track record in securing high-value contracts with biotech or pharma clients on the U.S. East Coast Deep understanding of R&D and manufacturing workflows, and the flexibility to craft bespoke service models that resonate with client objectives Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, and relationship-management skills - comfortable working at both executive and technical levels Results-driven mindset with experience in leading cross-functional, geographically distributed teams Located on the East Coast USA, with readiness for regular regional travel About Mantell Associates
