Brief Description

Sierra7, Inc. is seeking an experienced Training Specialist who will provide instructional design, guidance, comprehensive knowledge transfer, and delivery support for the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General (VA OIG) Enterprise Architecture (EA) Modernization initiative. This role ensures stakeholders across the organization are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to effectively adopt, utilize, and sustain EA modernization tools, frameworks, and governance processes. The training specialist will collaborate closely with technical, program management, and business stakeholders to design user-focused training materials and facilitate personnel training and knowledge transfer.

This is a TEMPORARY (6 months) full-time position in the Washington, DC area and onsite work will be necessary.

Position Responsibilities

Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive training strategy and curriculum to support enterprise architecture modernization efforts.

Conduct needs assessments and skills gap analysis to identify training requirements across diverse user groups.

Design, develop, and deliver training materials, including instructor-led courses, job aids, user guides, and quick reference materials.

Facilitate workshops, briefings, and virtual knowledge-sharing sessions for staff and end-users on Enterprise IT & Business Architectures.

Coordinate with program leaders to align training objectives with modernization goals and enterprise architecture governance

Establish metrics and tracking methods to measure training effectiveness and goals and recommend improvements.

Maintain version control and updates to training content as modernization efforts evolve.

Ensure training materials meet Section 508 accessibility compliance and plain language standards.

Requirements

Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in plain language

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with experience using training design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, Articulate, etc.

Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise architecture, IT transformation, or large-scale system modernization programs, desired.

Strong understanding of change management principles and user adoption strategies.

Experience in developing training programs that support governance and compliance, desired.

Knowledge of TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks, desired.

Experience working with federal agencies, preferably VA, OIG, or oversight organizations, a plus.

Ability to obtain and maintain public trust clearance

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, information systems, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in instructional design, adult learning, or training delivery in a federal or enterprise IT modernization environment.

Certification in instructional design, training, or change management (e.g., CPTD, Prosci, ATD, CompTIA CTT+), a plus.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Sierra7 varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.

The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia is: $79,000 - $95,000 USD
