Tesla is seeking an exceptional Global Supply Manager (GSM) to lead electronics hardware sourcing for our most exciting and transformative products. In this role, you'll develop, refine, and execute sourcing strategies for PCBAs, custom mechanical parts, and finished assemblies. By ensuring access to advanced technologies at the most competitive terms and costs, you will play a pivotal role in commercializing tomorrow's innovations.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in sourcing, to include contract manufacturing, PCBA, mechanical fabrication, and semiconductor supply chains. Reporting to the Supply Chain Group Manager, you\'ll also serve as a key sourcing partner for Tesla\'s engineering groups. By fostering robust relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you\'ll drive cost, quality, and delivery performance as you continuously strive to optimize the total cost of ownership. Responsibilities

Own the RFx Process: Lead the end-to-end RFx cycle, including preparing and issuing RFQ(s) to potential manufacturing and supply partners; performing thorough analysis and evaluation of responses; driving negotiations for optimal terms; advocating a path and securing internal approvals; and nominating the selected partner(s) that meet Tesla’s strategic objectives

Collaborate on Product Launches: Partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to orchestrate seamless New Product Introduction (NPI) and efficient scaling to mass production

Build Category Strategies: Develop, align, and execute comprehensive category strategies to meet Tesla’s long-term supply chain objectives and effectively partner with stakeholders to inform and influence executive-level decisions

Become a Category Expert: Gain a deep understanding of the supply base; fabrication and assembly processes, materials, lead times, global trends and dynamics, emerging technologies, and other nuances to enable proactive decision-making

Assess and Mitigate Risks: Evaluate global supply chain risks and develop robust contingency plans to support Tesla's high-volume production requirements

Contract Management: Ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and related contracts are in place before initiating business

Develop Supplier Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators and monitoring processes for selected suppliers, to enable visibility to trends, risks, and opportunities

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement with a focus on PCBA, mechanical, or electronics manufacturing

Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience

Excellent data-driven decision making, problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines

Proven ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business goals and drive measurable impact

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams and levels

Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, and legal team to drive alignment and execute sourcing strategies

Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring strategic collaboration and mutual growth

Managing various aspects of core PCBA manufacturing, material planning, strategic sourcing, inventory control, should cost analysis, risk management

Deep understanding of PCBA manufacturing process (SMT, through-hole, testing, and final assembly)

Familiarity with key semiconductor components in automotive applications such as MCUs, SoCs, power electronics (MOSFETs, LGBTs) etc.

Benefits and Compensation Expected Compensation

$82,800 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
