The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining accurate general ledger records, preparing financial statements, and assisting with audits. This role will work closely with the accounting and finance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of public accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and a keen interest in real estate. Key Responsibilities
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis. Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accruals. Assist with annual audit and tax preparation, providing necessary schedules and documentation. Collaborate with property management and development teams to ensure proper accounting for projects. Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies. Participate in process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred). 1–3 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or mid-tier firm experience preferred). Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar real estate systems a plus). Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Seniority level
