American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with night shifts and advanced cardiac monitoring skills.Job Details•PCU unit within a hospital setting with a focus on cardiac telemetry and progressive care,•Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:4, with up to 1:5 depending on acuity and patient downgrades,•If floated to a non-telemetry med-surg unit, patient ratio is 1:6,•Shifts are 3x12 hours nights, from 19:00 to 07:30,•Floating within the hospital required as needed within scope of practice,•Every other weekend coverage required,•Stroke certified unit with admissions from emergency department, direct admits, and transfers,•Navy blue scrubs required,Job Requirements•Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of consideration,•Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU/telemetry nursing experience required,•Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS,•Proficient in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response teams,•Experience with IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC management, heparin protocols, and management of non-titratable drips,•Skilled in handling CVA, chest tubes, external CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation,•Must provide two references and copies of certifications for consideration,•Return staff must have at least 1 year between assignments and will be reviewed individually,Additional Information•Duties include peritoneal dialysis, documenting and interpreting telemetry rhythms, and responding as a code team recorder or time keeper,•Admits patients from emergency and other units, including those needing cardiac monitoring,•Orientation modules are completed online at the start of the contract and annually,•First-time travelers are welcome to apply,•No time off requests will be accepted after auto-offer acceptance,•Local candidates are accepted at the same rate,),•hash,:• ,
