American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring PCU/Telemetry skills, multi-state licensure, and strong cardiac monitoring abilities.Job Details•Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool position, covering multiple Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments,•Expected to float regularly between approximately five units and metro campuses as needed,•Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, and medically complex cases such as heart failure, MI, stroke, COPD, pulmonary embolisms, and more,•Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6,•Night shift schedule, working 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15),•Required to complete 8 weekend shifts within each 6-week schedule period,•Holiday and Charge RN assignments may be required,•Epic charting system is used,Job Requirements•Active RN license for both Kansas and Missouri or a compact license in hand,•Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU, stepdown, or similar specialty experience, with at least 1 year within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year,•Certifications required: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred,•Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of rapid response teams, and cardiovascular patient care,•Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and heparin protocols,•Competence with respiratory care (chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy management) and wound care,•Experience with Epic EMR preferred,•Two professional references from past year required: one supervisor-level or above, and one may be a charge RN,•Not open to local candidates; home address must be at least 75 miles from facility,Additional Information•Responsibilities include caring for a diverse patient mix, including post-MI, post-cardiac cath, stroke, renal failure, and endocrine/metabolic disorders,•Regular floating is a requirement and lack of willingness to float will result in cancellation,•Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed per contract,•Must be able to complete mandatory orientation modules prior to start,•Drug screening is required and positive or un-cleared results will result in cancellation,•No travel partners accepted for this position,•First-time travelers are welcome to apply,•No block scheduling accommodations available,•Scrub dress code and additional onboarding requirements will be provided prior to start,),•hash,:• ,
