These positions will work under the direction of the Director of Events, and on the CoB event team that also includes the Assistant Director of Events. The CoB Event Team assists with over 150 events during the academic year, serving current students, external alumni and supporters, along with College of Business faculty and staff. Pay rate for this position is $16.05 per hour. Transferable Skill Development Position Duties Assistance with all elements of event management and execution,from early planning to day-of setting up and taking down of both in-person and virtual events. This includes: Attending meetings and taking notes Making and printing name tags and other printed materials Coordinating with external vendors for various event aspects such as catering, equipment and space rentals Organizing and keeping inventory of event materials in storage spaces Set-up of marketing and event displays Data management, analytics, and tracking Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS ). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
( OIS ), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications Ability to take initiative Positive attitude, reliable, punctual, trustworthy Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to follow up after a task is completed Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Student in the College of Business Applicants must be able to work a minimum of a 2-hour shift, and must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Customer service or hospitality experience Experience with design and Experience working or planning events Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Workplace is a typical office environment. Hours can range from 7AM 9PM and occasional evening and/or weekend hours are expected. However shifts more typically Mon-Fri between the hours of 9AM 6PM. Applicants must be able to work a minimum of a 2-hour shift, but ideally will be available for 3- 4-hour shifts. Students should be available to work 10-15 hours per week during the term. Physical requirements may include remaining in a stationary position,such as sitting or standing while completing a task, and maneuvering supplies up to 50 lbs.
