Shipcom.ai is seeking a hands-on, experienced
Finance Director
to lead all aspects of the company’s accounting and financial operations. This individual will have full responsibility for the finance and accounting functions, including government contract compliance, systems integration, payroll and tax oversight, budgeting, and reporting. Ideal candidates are CPA-certified with over a decade of leadership experience in small to mid-sized organizations and bring deep expertise in
NetSuite , government contracting (DCAA), and enterprise financial systems.
Responsibilities
Full responsibility for the accounting and finance department
Supervise month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Deep hands-on experience with NetSuite, including modules for Finance and General Ledger, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Inventory and Project Accounting, HR, Admin, and Timesheet tracking
Integrate Concur expense system via middleware
Maintain and monitor Bank of America CashPro and corporate card usage or equivalent treasury systems
Government Compliance
Ensure full compliance with DCAA, including labor distribution, direct/indirect cost allocations, billing standards, and project reporting
Understand federal invoicing requirements and support audits and rate negotiations
Tax & Payroll Oversight
Manage corporate and payroll tax compliance in coordination with external advisors
Ensure proper classification and timely payment of taxes
Operational Excellence
Develop and maintain internal financial controls and policies
Support pricing and proposal development for government and SLED contracts
Deliver financial insights to the executive team to support strategic growth
Qualifications
CPA required
Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience in small to mid-size companies
Prior experience as a finance leader with full departmental responsibility
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, complex modeling)
In-depth NetSuite user and administrator experience across modules listed above
Familiarity with DCAA requirements and cost accounting standards
Working knowledge of Concur, CashPro, and corporate card systems
Proficiency in corporate and payroll tax management
