Join to apply for the Civil Water Resources/Hydraulics Engineer role at HDR. Responsibilities
Work as a key member of a highway/roadway design team in designing and analyzing hydraulics including storm drain system design, culverts, and water quality treatment design for moderate to large projects and work independently on smaller projects Prepare or oversee the following design work using local, Caltrans, or FHWA standards: inlet design and spread calculations, storm drain pipe design and hydraulic grade line calculation, culvert design and analysis, and water quality treatment design and analysis. Prepare and oversee the following elements of contract plans, specifications and estimates: inlet design and spread calculations, storm drain pipe design and hydraulic grade line calculation, culvert design and analysis, and water quality treatment design and analysis. Include preparing scopes, budgets and schedules Manage day-to-day communication with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep the project on schedule and within budget, and keep the client satisfied Perform other duties as needed Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Professional Engineer (PE) license Demonstrated leadership and communication skills Proficiency and demonstrated applied experience with CAD civil engineering software such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., OpenFlows) as required Proficient with Microsoft Office Good verbal and written communication skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Preferred Qualifications
California PE Proficiency with InRoads, MicroStation, AutoCAD and/or other design software as appropriate such as HydraFlow, StormCAD, HY-8, GIS, and BAHM What We Believe
